The co-operative way to create compost

Soil Squad is transforming food waste into something brilliant – rich, living compost that helps plants, people and the planet to thrive. Working with schools, businesses and local residents, we set up community compost hubs that not only reduce emissions but also boost biodiversity and support healthier, more resilient ecosystems.

Thanks to funding from St Albans Greener Together Net Zero Fund and Hertfordshire Council’s Locality Budget, we’re able to bring our community composting hub at Sandridge Road Allotments to life, creating opportunities for communities to contribute to a circular economy.

We believe in the power of collaboration to shape a sustainable future. Whether you’re a local school, a business, or a passionate resident, we’d love you to join The Squad, a growing community of change-makers working together for a greener, healthier world.
