Let’s make something amazing together
Soil Squad CIC is on a mission to recycle your food waste and turn it into lovely nutrient-rich compost that’s great for the planet and even better for our community. Compost that regenerates soil for gardens, vegetable plots, allotments, schools and community spaces. By transforming resources that would otherwise go to a digester or landfill (often miles away from the place it is collected from), we’re creating a hyper local, practical solution for a more sustainable future. Together we can close the loop. Less waste, richer soil, fewer emissions.
Our work
Soil Squad partners with local residents, schools and businesses to create a community compost hub that makes the planet smile. Together, we turn food waste into something brilliant – lovely rich compost that makes thriving plants and vibrant humans. By rolling up our sleeves, we’re helping St Albans to cut down on emissions, boost biodiversity and keeping our future looking rosy (and green). We’d love for you to join ‘The Squad’ – a community of change-makers who believe in turning yesterday’s leftovers into tomorrow’s abundance.
About us
Established in 2024 in St Albans, Soil Squad is a Community Interest Company with its foundation in health and education. Our mission is to build a thriving community where composting not only nourishes the soil but boosts human health, supports vibrant ecosystems and creates nutrient-packed food. With sustainability at our core, our actions stay within planetary boundaries, moving at nature’s pace. The result is a CIC driving lasting change, inspiring environmental stewardship and regenerative practices for future generations.
Help support us
Like so many non-profits working hard with limited resources, Soil Squad relies on donations and support from volunteers. So if you have the time to roll up your sleeves and dive into the world of composting, or help us spread the word with some social media, we’d love to have you onboard. Every little bit of help counts. So join The Squad and let’s grow something extraordinary together.
“Soil Squad is far more than a composting service. It’s a heartfelt movement, rooted in community, driving change and a brighter future for everyone involved.”
